A tour away from the everyday

 Beachcomber Tour

Our Half Day Beachcomber 4WD Tour offers you the opportunity to experience an incredible variety of diverse ocean beach landscapes. As many of our passengers say “There is so much more to see on this tour, than we had imagined”

he Cooloola Section of the Great Sandy National Park is famous for the magnificent coloured sand formations (exhibiting over 70 different shades of colour), the shipwreck of the ‘Cherry Venture’ (beached in 1973), Double Island Point with the Heritage Listed Lighthouse and tranquil ‘Wide Bay’.

fter crossing the Noosa River by ferry, our sandy 4WD adventure begins on Teewah Beach, along the shores of the South Pacific Ocean. Driving along the beach we’ll see and explore the renowned Teewah Coloured Sands with features such as the Cathedrals, Snow on the Mountain and Red Canyon.

Teewah Beach ends at Double Island Point. Here at the southern access gate, we take a short stroll up the rocky headland, where from high above the waves, we often see turtles, dolphins and Manta ray. From June to October, it is also possible to see Humpback whales on their northern migration. Depending on beach and/or tide conditions, we may use the northern access gate instead but either way this is a very special experience, for most people.

After leaving this beautiful slice of paradise, we retrace our tracks along the golden beaches but make one last stop at the forlorn and decaying wreck of the ‘Cherry Venture’, left high and dry by a 1973 cyclone. Its bulk now reduced to a tangled mass of rusted steel, sitting high on the beach.

The wreck of the Cherry Venture located at double island point.

The return trip on the beach allows time to reflect… on the marvels of ‘Mother Nature’.
