Great Sandy National Park
Cooloola and Rainforest 4WD Tour
The National Park
The Great Sandy National Park covers two vast areas of wilderness, Fraser Island to the North and Cooloola in the South. The National Park is the largest vegetated sand dune system in the world. The Cooloola section covers 70 000 km and stretches from Noosa to Rainbow Beach. The process of sculpting the world’s greatest sand mass began more than 700 000 years ago. The wind has shaped the coastline by its strength and direction and as a result we are fortunate today to visit and explore this World Heritage listed park and view the Coloured Sands that number at over 70 different shades.
From the pristine beaches, the sub tropical rainforest, the coloured sands, the Noosa river and lake systems….The Great Sandy National Park is truly a wonder to be held and all visitors will leave with a memorable experience..
